Happy New Year!!! The holidays are behind us and finally we have a little time to sit back and relax before we dive into soccer practices, planning spring break vacation, and the dreaded tax season. At County Line, it’s a time for us to throw out the old and bring in the new. It’s the time of year we are looking for fun and interesting new wines and products that will make you and your bank account happy and fulfilled. There are tons of wines out there that are incredible and often less than $15 and we are here to prove it to you.
Angela Stem is the wine consultant for the Springdale Liquor Association and is most often found surrounded by wine at County Line Liquor in Springdale. All of these wines are available here. Angela can be reached at 479-750-7500 or angela@slausa.com

Everybody wants something they can’t have. Whether it’s a vacation villa in Tuscany, a personal masseuse massaging you to sleep every night, or Donald Trump’s expense account, you want something fabulous and you want something special. And just like Jagger said, you can’t always get what you want. But you can be the first, maybe one of only of a few people in the state to have some of these very exclusive, very fabulous, small production wines. Meador Estate, "Old Vine," Dry Chenin Blanc Monterey 2002 $15.16 This Chenin Blanc is made in a true Vouvray style. Delicate and crisp, this wine gives subtle flavors of mango and other tropical fruits with a dazzling finish. A little over 100 cases produced.
Meador Estate, "Maverick," Syrah, Monterey, 2000 $46.66 This lush Syrah has fragrant aromas of violets and roses, overflowing with juicy flavors of blackberries and cassis and a hint of pepper. Again, less than 100 cases of this incredibly crafted wine produced. We are very lucky to see this wine in Arkansas.
Ambullneo, "Bulldog Reserve," Pinot Noir, Santa Barbara, 2003 $68.25 This very small winery is dedicated to making wines in a traditional French style. Firm structure, dark black cherry, raspberry, and a subtle smoky finish. This classic Burgundian style Pinot Noir is sure to impress.
Audesirk, "Signature," Napa Valley, 2002 $35.70 This blend of Cabernet, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc is quite a gem! Rich and elegant, delicate flavors of blueberry and spice, and a finish that dances on the palate. Only a few hundred cases of this wine were produced and only a handful of bottles still available in the state. |
